I was born and raised in Arlington Heights, a large Northwest suburb of Chicago, Illinois. I graduated a year early from John Hersey High School in 1986, and from Bemidji State University in 1990, with a BA in Theatre/Speech Communications. I returned to the Chicago area in August 1991, where I remained until 1996. In August 1996, I moved to Orlando, Florida where I lived for five years. Fargo, North Dakota is where I have called home since October 2001, and will continue to do so for many years to come it seems.

I have two daughters, 27 and 13. I also had a son who passed away June 4, 2000 at the age of 14 months. My oldest daughter has blessed me with two grandsons, 5 & 2.

In addition to my daughter and myself, my household consists of a dog and a cat.

I am twice divorced, but still believe in love, romance, and happily ever after. I have been dating a man for over two years now who despite my hesitations and fears has convinced me that good men still exist out there. He's been incredibly patient with me as I've worked on figuring out who Susan is.

I have a lot of administrative experience in my background as well as being an overnight manager for a fast food restaurant for eight years. I currently work in the Customer Contact Center with the Escalation & Research Specialist Team for Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota and have been there for over two years now. I love the company and the job. I also work online from home for a company called LiveWorld, doing social media moderation and engagement. I've been there for almost fourteen years and have watched the job change from moderating chat rooms and message boards on AOL to engaging with customers of various clients on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter. There's never a dull moment!

As far as my writing experience. I had an idea for a play in the back of my head for years, but did not actually start writing anything until about 1999. I was brave enough to actually "publish" my writing on the Internet for the first time in the form of fan fiction in 2000. My first story dealt with Rhett and Scarlett, a retelling of Gone with the Wind my way. I have learned a lot since those first stories and while they irk me they remain on my site. Each story I have written is near and dear to my heart. Each story represents a point in my life that needs to be remembered.

My reading tastes are quite varied. I read multi-genres in: romance, horror, general fiction, mystery/suspense. Science Fiction is the one genre I'm least educated about. Favorite authors include:
Cherry Adair, Patricia Cornwell, P.T. Deutermann, Janet Evanovich, Christine Feehan, Joanne Fluke, John Grisham, Sue Grafton, Laurell K. Hamilton, Steven Hamilton, Thomas Harris, Victoria Houston, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Stephen King, William Kent Krueger, John T. Lescroart, James Patterson, Kathy Reichs, J.D. Robb, J.K. Rowling, John Sandford.

My writing is just as eclectic. I write exclusively romance at this time, but I cover everything from contemporary to Inspirational to historical to paranormal to erotic.
