I'm a sports buff. Both of my marriages have been to men who could take or leave sports. I'm the one who will not schedule something on a Sunday during football season. I have been a Packers fan as long as I can remember. I grew up watching them being coached by Dan Devine, Bart Starr, Forrest Gregg, Lindy Infante, Mike Holmgren, Mike Sherman and will continue. I, unfortunately, missed the Vince Lombardi years. He was the man! In July 2005, my oldest daughter and I visited Green Bay and were able to take a tour of Lambeau Field. To walk on the ground that so many greats have walked on and played on for close to fifty years was breathtaking. I grew up watching the Phillies (even though I was from Chicago). My hero was Mike Schmidt, I still believe he's one of the best (if not the best) third baseman ever. I was always a Cubs fan and still am. I didn't really know who the White Sox were until they had their winning year in 1981. It's that north side versus south side thing I guess. I always liked the Bulls, even before Michael Jordan came along in 1984. Dave Corzine is an alumni of my high school. Now that I live in Fargo, I still root for the Packers and the Cubs but I find myself following the Timberwolves more than the Bulls. I've been a fan of Coach Pat Riley's forever and will root for whatever team he is involved with. I was happy to see the Bulls and the Heat made it to the playoffs both last year and this year. The Heat pulled it out against the Mavericks, I wasn't sure they were going to do it! And lastly there's the Blackhawks. I missed having hockey season last year. Anyway, enjoy my links.
