It Takes A Rebel by Stephanie Bond, Harlequin Temptation #769, Harry the Doll, Stillman & Lana Martin, February 2000, Rating: B

Alexandria "Alex" Tremont has a seemingly perfect life. She has a good career in the family business that she's worked hard for, a fiance who is considerate and kind to her. She's in the running and on track to get promoted to a coveted vice president spot in the company, pending the success of an ad campaign. She wants to go with a big named, successful ad agency but her father wants to go with a local, smaller agency based on a promise he made to the - now deceased - owner of the agency.

Jack Stillman, local sports hero who made a name for himself playing college football, has come to the ad agency to help his brother out while he's on his honeymoon. He has no plans to stay in any one place for very long, enjoying his footloose and fancy free lifestyle that includes a different girl for each day of the week. He almost loses the contract with Tremont's before the meeting even takes place do to his unprofessionalism and casual attitude toward women in general. He believes he can charm anyone into his way of thinking. Being chosen as Tremon'ts model is more than he bargained for when pitching for the business, but those are the stipulations.

The tension between Alexandria and Jack is there from the first moment they see one another. Tight and pristene almost to a fault, her organized life is turned upside down when she is forced to wortk with motorcycle riding Jack in the ad campaign. The success of said campaign will be the difference in whether she gets the promotion she's after. In the meantime, she can't help but be envious of the relationship Jack has with her father from the get-go, an easy male comradrie making her regret she was born a girl.

A cute story, fun to watch the events unfold and how the hero and heroine come together. I rate It Takes A Rebel a B.
