Blueprint for a Wedding by Melissa McClone, Silhouette Romance #1763, April 2005, Rating: C

What do a famous movie star in the limelight, 5 times engaged resulting in no trips to the altar, and a contractor intent on his perfect home in a small town have in common? One would think absolutely nothing until Faith Starr Addison comes to Berry Patch, Oregon anyway intent on refuburshing an old house and turning around to sell it to her family's hotel and Bed & Breakfast business. The only problem is ... it's the home that Gabriel Logan had his heart set on since childhood and had been promised to him. Until an offer the owner, Miss Larabee, told Gabe was too good to be true.

Faith Starr Addison (known in the movie business as Faith Starr) has come to Berry Patch, Oregon intent on getting out of show business and take her place in the family business. First she wants to prove to them she can do it by buying an old house and transforming it into a charming bed and breakfast. Her friend, Henry Davenport, not only recommended the 1908 Craftsman house to her but gave her Gabriel Logan's name as the best contractor in town. Henry did not realize how badly Gabriel had wanted the house for himself. Faith begins to feel at home in Berry Patch as she realizes the citizens aren't going to rat her out to the media. It isn't until someone suspects she's getting too close to Gabriel and his heart that that changes. In between that time, Faith comes into her own. She is willing to put her mistakes behind her, works hard on the house right along with Gabe and his crew, and is content hanging out in a small town. So intent on going back to her family she's on the verge of losing out on something that's alluded her thus far, love.

Gabriel Logan is content in his life in Berry Patch. Married at eighteen, divorced within a year when his wife wanted out of Berry Patch and he wanted to remain, his life has been going along ever since. He wanted a wife and family but the right woman was something he was unable to find. Disappointed that Miss Larabee went back on their deal he was even more upset at being the one hired to do the work on it. Soon he found Faith was getting under his skin. She worked with his crew, was willing to learn new things and was an asset not a hindrance to the renovations. Soon, he finds himself with the home he's always dreamed of but not the family in it.

A nice read. It was nice to see a movie star portrayed in such a grounded fashion. Gabriel and his family were great. He was entirely too easy to forgive the person who betrayed Faith's secret, though. I understood why he was, but I guess I would have stewed on it a little longer, promises are promises. I rate Blueprint for a Wedding a C.
