I finished a book while on vacation and was going to add it to my yearly list. It was only then that I realized how long it's been since I've actually finished a book. A part of this was due to a very hectic personal life: two full-time jobs, going through a divorce, kids, grandkids, etc. (I spent what down-time I did have between obligations writing.) Part of it was that I was prescribed bifocals in May 2014. Before that I'd get headaches, words on the page would be blurry. I didn't think about my eyes. I thought about being tired (physically and mentally). The bifocals changed and helped a lot, but finishing a book hasn't been in the cards until recently. I'm adding my December 2016 reads to my 2017 because I sure hope to read more in 2017.
My ratings are as follows:
A - a personal keeper
B - very good
C - okay
D - couldn't finish it, didn't do anything for me
I don't think I'll get very many D's and I don't believe I'll have the need to go below that to F. A book earning an A rating does not necessarily indicate I'll be keeping the books. I keep very few these days, too many unread books to read!
